Get active over the holidays

Don’t let the holiday stress sucker punch you in the holiday spirit.

Get your body moving.  Take advantage of all the benefits of exercise; including stress reduction.

Keeping it simple improves the probability for success.  A couple of ideas:

  • Make it a family event, do it together: walk, gym, boot camp, family yoga
  • Make it a personal escape:  get away from the family (briefly) grab some “me time”
  • Make if fun:  Turkey trot, Santa hustle, Obstacle course (at your fitness level)
  • Make it brief: try to do a little every day (10-30 minutes)
  • Make it happen outside traditional workouts:  park further away, take the stairs

If you start around Thanksgiving, you have 6 weeks to get a head start on your New Year’s Resolution.  You may end up being the inspiration for your someone else to start their fitness practice!
